Health Care Foundation

1. Health Camps for Regular Check Ups
We work with many schools that support physically disabled children and have adopted many schools. We have also done free corrective surgery for children. We also have a helpline for free parental counselling so that parents have a better know how of to cope with there children’s special needs. We provide specialists such as neurosurgeons and orthopaedical surgeons for children with physical or learning disabilities.
2. Mobile Clinics for Construction Site Workers
We started a mobile van system purely because we were appalled by the negligence of the blue collar workers the laborers, who are intact the backbone of society and are required to work under extreme weather conditions doing arduous physical labour on construction site. If the labour are women they often carry their babies and toddlers with them onsite due to lack of childcare options. The NCR region is rapidly expanding with big builders coming in to make expensive gated communities but the irony is the laborers making them can barely afford any form of healthcare it is why we at Gautam Budh Healthcare Foundation attempt to reach these places and offer both checkups and free medication to the laborers. We offer a team of doctors, nurses for on site treatment and medication. Our mobile Clinic has provided these services to 20,000 people per year.
3. Subsidized treatment for Hit and Run Victims
It is said that Hit and run victims would have a higher rate of survival if there is early medical intervention. Often it is considered a hassle and people fear helping and getting involved. Most people who come across someone who needs help are worried about also who would foot the bill? what if the patient is poor and would not be able to afford the treatment anyway. Yet we know It could happen to any of us and we would want help. Gautam Budh Healthcare Foundation subsidises any hit and run victims that are brought into Prakash Hospital . If it happens to be a poor person we try to give treatment and medication at a highly subsidised 50% rate.
4. Awareness Campaigns
There’s a famous saying teach a man and you teach a man teach a woman and you teach a family. We work on raising awareness on different health topics including the ones considered taboo such as menstrual health and sexual health. It is important to make sure that as doctors in social work we focus on a bottom up approach. We especially focus on issues related to women and child care as they’re the more neglected demographic even horizontally and their neglect worsens in research done on the vertical. We have held seminars on topics such as cervical cancer, pre natal health and menstruation to name a few.
